A crowd is Gathering by the big top
all are Lining up to see
a Show of extravaganza
a display of make-believe
The vendors sharpening their scissors
are calling out to me
«Get your visions and ambitions
the first one is for free»
There is popcorn at the tuck shop
but nothing is quite what is seems
Standing in line for the circus of your dreams

You got lost among the carnies
Then I, too, lost my way
as I turned around to sample
the ringmaster’s Cabernet
While I watched the troupe rehearsing
and the band played a merry tune
The gathering was dispersing
in a chorus of balloons
I am slowly getting tangled up
in Mr. Zoltar's selfish schemes
as a sales agent for the circus of your dreams

Your dreams were always shifty
now you’ve faded out of view
and I’m stuck here with this pantomime
not knowing where I’m going to
When I try to draw your picture
seems it always turns out wrong
But perhaps I should have expected
this would happen all along
Now I’m thinking about leaving
But I do not have the means
To wake up from the circus of your dreams

I have been wandering this spectacle
for far too many days
All the clowns in the manege
have painted on your face
When the dolphins sing their melodies

But as I walk the rows of spectators
